The Indian electronics manufacturing industry has undergone significant transformation in recent years due to various government initiatives and reforms. These efforts have led to a high-growth trajectory in the industry, with domestic production of electronic goods increasing from USD 49 billion in 2016-17 to USD 87.1 billion in 2021-22. The industry experienced a CAGR of 15% during this period. Key growth drivers include a large domestic market, availability of skilled talent, and low-cost labor. The “Make in India” initiative, launched in 2014, aims to position India as a global hub for design and manufacturing by increasing domestic production and reducing reliance on the services sector.
