Innolux to collaborate with India’s Vedanta on LCD technology
群創光電將與印商Vedanta合作建立LCD產線
Innolux disclosed to the public that it has signed an agreement to give India’s Vedanta access to its TFT LCD panel and module technologies.
The facility will be India’s first integrated flat panel display manufacturing, with TFT, colour filter, cell frontplane, and module assembly processes all included. The fab will resemble Innolux’s Fab 8B and is anticipated to use Gen 8.6 or substrates measuring 2250 x 2600 mm. Currently, a monthly capacity of 60,000 substrates is anticipated.
On-site training is already being conducted by Vedanta engineers in Taiwan. In the long run, assuming this first factory is successful, Vedanta aims to increase manufacturing in other parts of India and develop into a major, global FPD producer.

Odisha should try to attract investment from Taiwan
專家建言: 奧里薩邦應提供台商更多投資補助
According to professor Mumin Chen, deputy representative, Economic and Cultural Center, Taiwan, Odisha has not been successful in attracting investors from Taiwan to establish bases in the state, unlike Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
While addressing the industrialists at the North Odisha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NOCCI) business park in Balasore, Chen said that Taiwan is a hub for semiconductor, electronics, mobile phone parts, information, communication, and audio-video products. He also added that Odisha government should reach out to Taiwanese business organizations in order to attract investment to the state, just like Gujarat and Tamil Nadu have done.
Sierra Leone to adopt India Stack to create Aadhar-like digital ID pilot project
獅子山共和國將使用印度India Stack科技,建立國民身分識別資料
The National Civil Registration Authority of Sierra Leone (western African country) has partnered with the Modular Open-Source Identity Platform, or MOSIP, an open-source foundational identity platform developed by the International Institute of Information Technology, Bengaluru, to create a digital ID pilot project similar to India’s Aadhar.
India’s successful digital journey has sparked a global digital revolution, starting with the development of Aadhar, a distinctive digital identity that is recognized throughout the nation, and continuing with the development of India Stack, a larger collection of Application Programming interfaces (APIs). The goal of India Stack is to make identification, data, and payments simple and practical for everyone. It is a set of open APIs and public commodities.
The platform is currently being used by as many as six countries, including Sri Lanka, Morocco, the Philippines, Guinea, Ethiopia, and the Togolese Republic. In addition to these nations, Tunisia, Samoa, Uganda, and Nigeria have also stated that they are open to implementing the Indian model.

Launch of real-time payment system connectivity between India and Singapore
印度與新加坡啟動即時跨境支付系統
On Tuesday, a “real-time payment linkage” was established between Singapore’s PayNow and India’s Unified Payments Interface, or UPI. This initiative is anticipated to facilitate cheaper and secured cross-border remittances and benefit members of the 400,000-strong Indian diaspora in the city-state.
The link between PayNow in Singapore and the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in India is the second cross-border P2P payment link for Singapore and the first for India. Additionally, it is the first such link in the world to involve non-bank financial organizations and to make use of scalable cloud-based infrastructure that can handle future growth in remittance traffic (NBFIs).
The launch took place in a virtual ceremony joined by Lee Hsien Loong, the prime minister of Singapore, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dholera SIR chosen by Vedanta-Foxconn to be the first semiconductor factory in India
Dholera投資特區被富士康及Vedanta選為印度第一間半導體工廠場址
According to a senior state government official, a joint venture between the Indian conglomerate Vedanta and the world’s largest manufacturer of electronics, Foxconn, has chosen city of Ahmedabad’s Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) for the location of their semiconductor and display manufacturing facility.
In September of last year, a joint venture between Vedanta and Foxconn signed an MOU with the Gujarat government to invest Rs 1,54,000 crore to establish the facility in the state, marking the largest corporate investment in the history of independent India. This will be India’s first semiconductor manufacturing facility.
The Center is hopeful that at least one of the “few” semiconductor manufacturing projects it anticipates approving in 2023 would be ground-breaking at its production facility by the end of the year.
