Rajeev Chandrasekhar, minister of state for electronics and Technology, stated that government will soon approve two of the five applications received for setting up semiconductor manufacturing facilities with a total investment of ‘1.53 trillion. He anticipated that the two applications that were accepted would need about a year or two to develop their projects.
The government has also received more than 100 applications from startups for chip design in addition to the ideas for the production of semiconductor devices, Chandrasekhar continued. He added that while production will emerge in due course, the country currently has a base in design and will expand very swiftly from here.

Government hopes to introduce Telecom Bill in monsoon session of Parliament

The Telcom Bill, which will open the door to resolving a number of concerns in the industry, including excessive spectrum costs, the financial stability of telecom companies, and regulatory framework, is something the government hopes to introduce in the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
The telecom and IT minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, stated at a local event that following the government’s promised reforms for the business, the sector has become investment-oriented and a source of jobs.
According to him, the Ministry is considering all the suggestions that have been made for the Bill and has received them from several Ministries, stakeholders, and international organizations that oversee other regulators in the industry.
EV sales rise 28 per cent in Q4 2022 in India

According to the research, nine electric two-wheeler models, six electric three-wheeler models, and five electric cars were introduced during the quarter, and by the end of Q4 2022, India would have more than 26,000 charge points installed. Maharashtra (13.78 percent) was the state with the second-highest sales share, followed by Uttar Pradesh (14.33 percent).

The government announced that BVR Subrahmanyam, a former secretary of commerce, has been appointed CEO of NITI Aayog for a period of two years. The appointment has received the approval of the Cabinet Appointments Committee.
